Peer Mentors

ACHIEVE - LEARN - FLOURISH
The Aspire Learning Federation is made up of two schools - Elm Park Primary School and R J Mitchell Primary School in the London Borough of Havering.
Peer Mentors play a vital role in our school community by offering support and guidance to their fellow pupils. Their primary responsibilities include assisting younger pupils in the playground, fostering inclusiveness among peers, and helping to resolve any disputes that may arise during playtime. Additionally, Peer Mentors are expected to set a positive example by embodying the school’s vision and values.
The main duties of your child as a Peer Mentor will encompass:
-
Offering support to younger pupils by engaging in friendly conversations and encouraging participation in games, thereby helping to develop friendships.
-
Acting as accessible figures to promote inclusivity and mediate conflicts that may occur during recess.
-
Addressing minor issues using our restorative approach methods to ensure a harmonious school environment.
-
Assisting classmates in collaborative play through effective management of games and leisure activities.
-
Serving as key role models by consistently demonstrating the school’s core values.
