At R J Mitchell Primary, pupil leadership is a cornerstone of our culture. We value pupil‑led initiatives and encourage children to take on meaningful roles, contribute their ideas, and help shape teaching and learning. Our vision is to grow good people who inspire others and make a difference in their own and others’ lives.

Within class, our PSHE curriculum provides space for challenging discussions and debate about global and school‑related issues. Pupils are encouraged to share feelings and opinions confidently. We use tools such as Votes for Schools, pupil voice surveys, and learning walks to ensure views are heard and acted upon.
