ACHIEVE - LEARN - FLOURISH
The Aspire Learning Federation is made up of two schools - Elm Park Primary School and R J Mitchell Primary School in the London Borough of Havering.
WELCOME
Here you’ll find all the latest information about our classroom, along with highlights of the exciting things we’ve been doing.
Pupils in Franklin 2 access the National Curriculum, which is carefully adapted to meet the wide range of needs within our class. We make the curriculum as functional and meaningful as possible to support the development of independence in everyday life.
Our approach also places a strong emphasis on repetition of key skills, which is essential for building fluency and long-term confidence. We work on personalised, individual targets to support each learner’s growth, and where appropriate small group activities to encourage social interactions for learners. We aim to provide self-regulation opportunities through sensory intervention, while also fostering positive relationships between peers and staff.

PE
This year, Franklin 2 has PE lessons on a Wednesday.
To ensure full access and high performance in PE, your children need to come to school wearing their PE kits on PE days.
-
Plain shorts / leggings / tracksuit bottoms (black)
-
Plain / RJM logo school colour t-shirt. Additional school jumper or fleece (maroon).
-
They will also need black trainers.
Jewellery
For safety reasons children are not allowed to wear jewellery or hard hair ornaments in school. The wearing of body adornment for cultural reasons will be considered on an individual basis. Pupils will be required to remove any items
Hair
Long hair should be tied back at all times. This is so that this does not detract from children's learning and is out of the way during PE lessons. Optional small hair accessories in the school colours only.
Our Curriculum & Homework
Homework & Homework Expectations
Homework will be set each term and will include target vocabulary for communication, along with activities and skills designed to support independence at home, as well as practice of basic maths and english skills that have already been taught in the classroom.
