ACHIEVE - LEARN - FLOURISH
The Aspire Learning Federation is made up of two schools - Elm Park Primary School and R J Mitchell Primary School in the London Borough of Havering.
WELCOME
Here you’ll find all the latest information about our classroom, along with highlights of the exciting things we’ve been doing.
In Franklin 1, we focus on promoting communication and interaction through a total communication approach, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
We work on personalised, individual targets to support each learner’s growth, and where appropriate small group activities to encourage social interactions for learners. We aim to provide self-regulation opportunities through sensory intervention, while also fostering positive relationships between peers and staff.

PE
This year, Franklin 1 has PE lessons on a Tuesday.
To ensure full access and high performance in PE, your children need to come to school wearing their PE kits on PE days.
-
Plain shorts / leggings / tracksuit bottoms (black)
-
Plain / RJM logo school colour t-shirt. Additional school jumper or fleece (maroon).
-
Black trainers.
Jewellery
For safety reasons children are not allowed to wear jewellery or hard hair ornaments in school. The wearing of body adornment for cultural reasons will be considered on an individual basis. Pupils will be required to remove any items
Hair
Long hair should be tied back at all times. This is so that this does not detract from children's learning and is out of the way during PE lessons. Optional small hair accessories in the school colours only.
