Donation to help enrich the curriculum1 October 2025 (by Ashlea Stevenson (ashlea)) |
Dear Parents and Guardians,
At R J Mitchell Primary School, we are committed to providing an education that extends beyond the classroom. We strongly believe that trips are a vital part of our pupils' learning experiences. Research consistently demonstrates that enrichment activities significantly enhance children’s retention of knowledge and understanding, allowing their learning to transition into long-term memory.
We would like to offer our pupils a variety of trips that encompass different subjects, including visits to museums, places of worship, historical sites and professional workshops. Such experiences not only enrich the curriculum but also help foster a deeper appreciation of our world and its diversity.
We recently consulted with parents during a forum, and the feedback we received was positive. Many parents expressed their belief that access to a broad spectrum of trips is essential for our pupils. It was collectively discussed that in order to facilitate these enriching opportunities, a financial contribution from families would be necessary. After careful consideration, it was agreed upon that a contribution of £15 per child for the entire year would be suitable.
We are pleased to announce that we will be moving forward with this initiative. In order to conveniently collect the contributions, we will be setting this up on ParentPay. Parents will have the option to make a one-off payment of £15 or to spread the amount over three months, with payments set at £5 each month.
We strongly believe that these trips will open up a range of experiences and opportunities for our pupils, helping to cultivate their curiosity and passion for learning. Your support in this is greatly appreciated and will play a crucial role in enriching our pupils’ educational journeys.
Thank you for your continued support. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Fuller
