Relationships, Sex and Health Education

21 May 2025 (by Ashlea Stevenson (ashlea))

Please see the attached letter regarding RSE

It is compulsory for your child to participate in science lessons, some of which contain educational material about human development and the reproductive system. It is, however, possible to withdraw your child from some or all lessons on sex education (Year 5 and 6 only). If you would like to request to withdraw your child from these lessons, please contact the school office who will make an appointment with either Miss Naess (PSHE Lead) or Miss Fuller, Acting Deputy Headteacher to discuss your concerns and make appropriate arrangements for this.

If you would like further information regarding the lesson content, we have arranged a ‘drop-in’ session that will take place in the main hall on Tuesday 3rd June 2025 from 14.30 until 15.00 where Miss Naess and Miss Fuller will be available to talk to you about the lesson plans and resources we will be using. This will be particularly useful if you are concerned about the elements of Sex Education we will be covering in Year 5 and 6 and would like to find out more.
