Dear Schools,

You may already be aware that we are doing a Warm Coats Initiative in all of our libraries this Autumn/Winter where we have adults and children’s warm coats that anyone can pick up for free, no questions asked.  We have a coat rail in each library where people can come in, try on and take home.

Last year we trialled it at Rainham library and 70 coats were given out in total.

 With child poverty on the increase due to the cost of living crisis please can you let all of your teachers and parents know if you can that we have this going on and if anyone has any donations of good quality, warm, clean and undamaged coats that these will be very welcome, just please ring up your local library before dropping off as we are unsure of how many donations we will be getting.  Poster attached,
