School Learning Council

The School Learning Council plays an active part in our school.

Two representatives from each class are democratically elected by their peers. They attend meetings once a half-term to discuss issues around the school that effect their learning.

The meetings are clerked by Mrs Connelly and the meetings are chaired by Year 6 children. Mr Read co-ordinates the meetings and goes along as a representative of the Strategic Leadership Group.

So far this year the children have promoted a 'Keep RJ Mitchell Tidy' Campaign and are currently discussing changes that need to be made as we grow into a full 2 form entry school. Minutes are circulated to their class teachers and time is made in each class for School Learning Council Representatives to feed back the issues raised and discuss solutions moving forward.

The School Learning Council is an active body that representatives the pupil voice within the school.
